Silver Arts Exhibition

7 Sept - 24 Sept
National Library Building, The Plaza

This exhibition features a curated selection of art pieces and music created by the participants from across four different Silver Arts Community Arts Projects (CAPs) that took place between February to July 2017.

###

Food Is A Metaphor
By Angie Seah and Stellah Lim
This was an intergenerational, mixed media arts project specially conceptualised for 50 children NTUC My First Skool and 12 seniors from NTUC Silver Circle at Braddell Heights, who underwent a series of art-making workshop sessions. Using local food culture as a familiar topic, these pre-schoolers and elderly worked together in teams to create art pieces using tactile actions like knotting, twisting, cutting and weaving.

Let The Harps Sound
By Katryna Tan
Harpist Katryna Tan led a group of seniors in learning the basics of playing the harp, where there were able to explore and express themselves creatively through their favourite songs and compositions. This exhibition showcases the musical works created and performed by the senior participants, as well as their musical journey.

Virtually Home
By Lee Sze Chin
In this digital art project, senior participants drew inspiration from their memories, experiences and personal stories of spaces to create digital tours for others. They explored storytelling, basic photography, videography and VR photography, editing and social media publishing to create their own narratives of their tours. Visit this exhibition to explore (re)interpretations of heritage and narratives of everyday Singapore.

In Every Moment, There Is Always A Line Between Us
By Justin Lee
In this visual arts community arts project, visual artist Justin Lee led senior participants in creating their own self-portraits using lines, forms and shapes to capture the memorable moments of everyday life.
